ACETONE (C3H6O)
Acetone, whose chemical formula is C3H6O, is the first member of the class of aliphatic ketones. Acetone, which combines with water, ethanol and ether in any ratio, has a sharp odor and has a boiling point of 56°C and a freezing point of -95°C.
Acetone is used as a component in many chemical reactions as well as in many solvent applications. It is used as a solvent in the production of ink, vinyl, paint, adhesive, acrylic and cellulose resins and as intermediates in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
