It is used as a dehumidifier in antifreeze production, wood and chipboard seconds and tobacco industry. It is used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, polyurethanes and plasticizers. It is also used as a moisture trap in the tobacco industry, as a snow spray in aircraft and railways, as a thinner in the glue industry.
